I’m Yitzy Katz, a licensed clinical professional counselor with a deep passion for helping others navigate the complexities of mental health, particularly when intertwined with physical illness. I earned my degree in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, graduating in 2019. My experience spans a diverse range of counseling contexts, including substance use, mental health, group therapy, individual therapy, couples counseling, and more intensive levels of care.
Even after attaining my full license in 2022, I have continued to seek supervision, which has deepened my understanding and enriched my perspective on the challenges my clients face. I believe in the importance of lifelong learning and reflection, which allows me to provide the most empathetic and effective support possible.
On a more personal note, several years ago, I experienced an illness that profoundly impacted my life. Navigating physical rehabilitation while grappling with grief, emotional pain, and the challenge of finding a new path forward was transformative. This journey, combined with my clinical experience in treating individuals facing emotional issues resulting from physical illnesses, has led me to specialize in Counseling for Medical Conditions. My personal and professional experiences have equipped me to offer compassionate, informed support to those facing similar struggles. There is a path forward—will you join me?
